About COSIM 2026
The intestine is no longer understood merely as an organ of digestion and absorption. Today, it occupies a central role in regulating various body systems, influencing everything from metabolism to immune, hormonal, and neurological function.
In recent decades, research advances have brought to light the leading role of intestinal microbiota as one of the main modulators of health, actively participating in inflammatory processes, gut-brain axis communication, immune response, and metabolic balance.
COSIM was created with the purpose of expanding healthcare professionals' perspective beyond the obvious, promoting a deeper, integrated, and evidence-based approach to the role of the intestine in overall health. Over two days, specialists from different areas will explore the various interfaces of the intestine, contributing to building stronger, more strategic, and applicable clinical reasoning.
